The DEIED is a course spanned for 2 years with a total 4 semester. The course emphasizes on child psychology, knowledge of subject, teaching methodology etc, along with providing training to the candidates via practical classroom experience. Every state conducts its DEIED entrance test as there is no one entrance exam for DEIED in whole country. Every state organises its own test for teachers such as CTET, DSSSB, KVS, NVS, REER UPTET etc for admission in the government colleges. To procure admission in the course, candidate must be a graduate from recognized university with minimum 50% aggregate marks. The diploma in elementary education (DEIED) syllabus’s motive is equip interested candidates with knowledge and dexterity to be potent in becoming a productive teacher in primary grades from 1 to 5. School Organization and Management: it comprises study material for acquaintance with the school structures, administration and classroom management techniques.
Child Development and Pedagogy: this course underscores phases of child development, theories of erudition and operative techniques of teaching.
Language teaching: This involves methods of teaching in English or mother tongue of student.

DELED Admission
The DEIED admission process differs from institution to institution as well as state. Many institutions conduct their entrance exams and shortlist their own candidates. Such exams involve test of teaching aptitude, subject knowledge of subjects in higher secondary and General knowledge.
- Merit-Based: A few institutions select candidates based on result on qualifying exams.
- General Steps:
- Check Eligibility: Before you take admission in the D.EL.Ed course, check weather all the conditions like minimum marks and age limit are satisfied by you.
- Application Form: Next step in the admission process is to fill all necessary details in the application form. You may fill form in-person at the institution or online.
- Entrance Exam- prepare for the entrance exam if it is the basis of admission in university or college.
- Check out Merit List (if applicable) or entrance exam result: Wait for result of exam or merit list declared by the company.
- Counselling/Document Verification: Candidates that are part of merit list, are called for counselling and document verification. Submit the necessary documents required by institution.
Working women can go for correspondence training sessions in which they can attend weekly classes and appear for the annual exam. Aspirants applying for the post of upper primary teacher should have passed B.A or B.Sc or its equivalent. Candidates in the final year of B.A and B.Sc and pass it with a minimum 45% can also appear for this examination. The training helps the candidates to groom themselves as per the school requirement. Eligibility for Deled Course:
Any candidate who has completed 10+2 standard can join this course.
